Catherine Sadler is the CEO of SADLER + BRAND, a NYC based new kind of consultancy/agency functioning as an igniter/connector in the service of talent + brands + innovation + the industry. It’s primary mission is to ignite relevancy, advocacy and growth through disruptive connections, intersections and collaborations.
Throughout her 30-year career, Catherine has been a proven innovator and brand builder for renowned retail, fashion and lifestyle companies including Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Coach, Urban Zen and Conran's. Catherine also led her own brand marketing agency with clients including Donna Karan, Tiffany & Co., Montblanc and Safilo. Catherine is renowned for connecting with customers through breakthrough integrated marketing campaigns that help keep brands well positioned as icons with relevance in the competitive landscape we live in today – this includes her high profile work in licensing and collaborations.
Most recently, she served as Global Chief Marketing Officer at Banana Republic (2009 through 2014), leading all aspects of the global marketing organization: Brand Engagement, Media, Communications, Creative Services, Visual Merchandising and Store Design. Catherine was responsible for initiatives that created brand advocacy and reinforced Banana Republic’s global positioning. During her tenure she spearheaded notable marketing partnerships and designer collaborations that integrated the brand into the zeitgeist, drove major customer acquisition and significant incremental sales. These include: Mad Men (AMC), Virgin America, GQ, YouTube, Anna Karenina (Universal), Issa of London, Trina Turk, Milly, Marimekko and Roland Mouret.
Catherine graduated magna cum laude from Windham College where she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature. She also attended the American College of Switzerland and United States International University. Over her substantive career, her work has contributed to personal and brand awards including her induction into the Academy of Women Achievers, Shorty Awards, Fifi Awards, Catalog Age Awards and the Gold Lion Award for Retail Marketing from the Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, she has served as a juror for the Clio Image Awards in the category of “Engagement, Integrated Campaign & Partnerships/Sponsorships”.
