Rafi loves building things, especially if they involve computers (or Lego -- he still hasn't let his parents give away his childhood collection).
At age 9, for his father's birthday, Rafi's gift was a program he wrote in Visual Basic. It performed such deep functionality as converting pounds to kilograms and determining if a given date fell on a Sunday or a Monday.
At UC Berkeley, Rafi studied Economics and Computer Science, and founded a company which sold software and services to small real estate brokerages. After graduating, Rafi spent 4 years in the Boston Consulting Group's New York, Melbourne, and Amsterdam offices. Before joining Bessemer in 2013, Rafi ran the growth product team at Foursquare and worked on the analytics team, where he became obsessed with rapid A/B testing, Hive, geolocation, and the rewards and challenges of mobile-first development.
As a Senior Associate in Bessemer's New York office, Rafi invests across all stages, with a focus on consumer businesses and a special interest in highly viral mobile opportunities.
